According to reports, Tory Lanez’s legal squad is tryna get homey out the pen on bail. That’s right: Lanez’s legal team recently filed a motion to bail out the “Hate To Say” rapper. They’re also seeking to appeal homey’s 10-year bid for popping Megan Thee Stallion in her big toe.
Earlier this month, Lanez was sentenced for the shooting, which went down back in July of 2020. As of this post, the rapper is still down bad inside Los Angeles County Jail, with little to no privileges. According to a report citing journalist Meghann Cuniff, the motion for “bail on appeal” was filed in L.A. earlier this week, and a hearing is set for the first week of September.
Speaking of which, the hearing will reportedly be held before Judge David Herriford — the same judge that sentenced Lanez to 10 joints.
The filing supposedly came after the rapper’s defense attorney, Jose Baez, started beefing with Meghann Cuniff online. The beef involved Cuniff suggesting Baez didn’t have his client’s back (according to Cuniff, Baez said he was gonna file the bail motion on Lanez’s behalf over two weeks ago, but didn’t do so because he was too busy posting IG Stories of his vacay in Italy. Baez reportedly clapped back at Cuniff and called the respected journalist the B-word — “blogger”.)
Back to Los Angeles County Jail: According to reports, Lanez is being held in the “administrative segregation unit,” which is a fancy way of saying homeboy is definitely not in gen pop. The 31-year-old rapper reportedly only gets two hours out his cell each day.
On August 13, Megan Thee Stallion did her thing on stage at the 2023 Outside Lands Music Festival, which was held at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, CA. This was supposedly the “WAP” rapper’s first performance since Lanez was sentenced to 10 joints behind bars.
