Our “223’s” song creator seems to have to serve a longer sentence than expected.
Jacquavius Dennard Smith, professionally known as 9lokkNine, is an artist out of Florida.
He is best known for his songs “10 Percent”, which has received over 30 million views on YouTube, and “223’s” featuring YNW Melly, which peaked at number 34 on the Billboard Hot 100. He was arrested earlier this year on June 21st, 2021. He was charged with racketeering and conspiracy to commit racketeering.
Prior to this conviction, he was arrested 7 different times on counts of drug charges, drug trafficking, possession of a firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm, probation violation, trespassing, grand theft, possession by a delinquent, possession of marijuana, and attempted 2nd degree murder.
It was thought that after his June arrest, it was thought that he was only going to serve 3 years but that changed to 87 months after his hearing. He will serve his time in federal prison after pleading guilty to three weapon charges even after being arrested prior for possessing a firearm as a felon.
